Leadership for Numeracy Learning (LfNL) Project
Focussed on the Number Strand as a foundational element of Mathematics learning, this project is designed to enhance leadership in numeracy across the school.
The project is based on the assertion that sustained curriculum change is most likely to occur when it is orchestrated by school leaders with the Principal playing the pivotal role.
Leaders receive professional learning in both the content knowledge they need to lead numeracy learning and the application of instructional leadership to improve teacher and student performance. The project offers five spaced workshops over one year. The accumulated learning culminates with the design and application of a planned numeracy intervention in schools, based on the diagnosis of quality evidence.
EDN has been appointed to assist Principals and schools to interpret the workshops and apply this knowledge to their school context.
